Toddler Class

The Toddler classroom is an introduction to school. The teacher(s) focus on nurturing and care, as well as safety and security. The children in this class learn through exploratory play. With this, our students acquire skills in listening and speaking. The students also gain self-confidence and self-help skills. Our students learn about making friends, the alphabet, and numbers. The experience they gain in this class help them develop their mental and physical skills. This class will also introduce basic Christian values.

Preschool Class

The Preschool classroom is a stimulating environment in which the children learn to engage with their peers through exploratory play. This class focuses on fostering independence, cooperation, communication skills, hands-on learning, and literacy and number concepts. Children strengthen their oral communication skills through their teacher and peer interactions, circle time, and hands-on activities. Our students learn the value of play through various centers. The students in this class continue to learn about our Christian faith.

Transitional Kindergarten Class

The Transitional Kindergarten class is also a center-based environment. Our students continue to learn through exploratory play. They also prepare for Kindergarten by doing small group work at the tables, and circle time. The students in this class focus on problem solving, responsive listening, and using language to learn. The children will be prepared for the next level by developing their skills in the areas of Language, Math, Reading, and Science. They will also refine their fine motor skills through engaging hands-on experiences, and acquire their gross/large motor skills through outdoor play. The students will continue to learn about Christian concepts, faith, and the Bible.

Catechesis of the Good Shepherd Program

Catechesis: To experience, to learn
Good Shepherd: Another name for Jesus which emphasizes his gentle leadership

Catechesis of the Good Shepherd is a program which emphasizes an environment where children can experience the presence of Jesus rather than merely learning facts about him. Catechesis helps your child discover that Jesus is living in them. All the activities take place in a hands-on Montessori style environment with beautiful, hand made equipment for the children to explore. The classes are led by trained catechists who are sensitive to the children's spiritual lives as well as their own. Our catechists would be happy to give you a tour!

Moms of Preschoolers (M.O.P.S.)

"We build circles of moms who love each other like family... Our gatherings are where moms can meet to share their hopes, fears and insights, in a format that works with their schedules, that doesn’t neglect their faith nor their womanhood, their motherhood nor their purpose, their heart nor their mind." - MOPS International website.

MOPS is an international program that focuses on empowering moms through fellowship and faith. Our group currently meets on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of each month in the Y.O.U.T.H. Room of Emmanuel Episcopal Church. We are a very casual, laid back group that understands that sometimes you just want to have a conversation with someone who knows what it's like to be in your shoes. Our members are moms from differing backgrounds, faiths, and walks of life. We are very open-minded and open-hearted.

New drop-in visitors/members are always welcome.
